Boeing 707 is an American jet four engine passenger aircraft, designed in the early 1950s. One of the first jet passenger liners in the world, along with the British DH-106 Comet, the Soviet Tu-104 and the French Sud Aviation Caravelle. The first flight was made at July 15., 1954. Commercial operation 707-120 began at Pan American World Airways on October 26, 1958.
The first military transport aircraft/tanker aircraft KC-135, developed on the basis of 367-80 and structural elements 707-x took off in August 1956 and deliveries to the US air force began in June 1957 years. On the basis of the civil Boeing 707 and KC-135 was developed various civil and military versions: tankers, reconnaissance, weather monitoring, scientific research, AWACS aircraft, airborne command and communication with strategic nuclear forces. Military versions will continue to fly presumably until 2040.
