Brengun Chelomey 16KhA
One very interesting project released by Brengun is Chelomey 16HA flying target. This flying device was developed after the war in Soviet Union, by Chelomey OKB. There was used experience gained from German WW1 flying bomb V1.
This kit is in the 1/48 scale, stock code BRP48003, coming in soft box with nice front cover art and color instruction on back side. Content is so simple, instruction leaflet, one fret with a parts and one small decal sheet. Number of parts is small, there is no number indicated on fret so refer all parts number on instruction leaflet.
By instruction start of work is with engine, where first come valve frame inside two half’s of pulse jet engine. Follow to that is two fuselage half’s and nothing is to place inside. Interesting to note is that kit parts have no guiding pins but it does not make problem in assembly, just need to match panel lines. As well this flying target was drop from air and never intended to land, it have no landing gear so it have trolley, also made from plastic from box. This kit has no resin parts at all. Kit parts are great match but just in case, I have apply filler over join lines.
There is few options for painting, two are in red-white squares and one is more military look, green with natural metal engine. I prefer more military look so I decide to do sample with all green areas, except of engines. First coat was in black base coat and next is green. I use green most similar to Soviet paint used for camouflage. When it all dry, I have hand apply metal coat over engines. Separately I have paint trolley, in two grays, as proposed by instruction.
So simple kit and can be made so fast, in just two days. It can be made by absolute beginner too so it is nice as start kit. Sample kit can find here and I highly recommend all what come from Brengun! With great thanks for sample kit!
