The Spitfire in 1/48 scale from Eduard was a big hit when it appeared a few years ago and it was greatly refreshed last year when they released the kit in another very popular scale, 1/72. Eduard is also very progressive in releasing their products a few at a time and I present here a kit with stock number 70121.

The kit comes as a Profi Pack series product, with nice cover art on the box and very rich content inside. This is mainly five frets of injected plastic (one is transparent), two sheets of decals (one is for service labels), an etched set with painted parts, protective mask and excellent instruction booklet.

The kit also proposes various markings to be completed and as they differ in some details, I would suggest you take a look at all work steps of the kit. Also take a look about options of open or closed cockpit, different parts to be used and some trimming necessary for the open version. My build started simply, spray Grey Green paint on entire interior parts. After this, when the paint dried, I painted some details in other colours.

I have no specific remarks about this kit, the build goes smoothly, without any problems. The parts fit is perfect, details are good and accurate. Use of filler is minimal but I use it in any case, just to be sure that join lines are perfectly smooth, but in general, you need no filler. The build progresses fast. From the very start of assembly up to the painting stage, you need just one day. My final choice is the sample flown by a Polish pilot and D-Day stripes, attractive and a bit more demanding for painting.

An excellent kit, simple to build, with many options. The decals are perfect as well the proposed schemes. I highly recommend this kit as well as various Brassin products released by Eduard for it. Big thanks to Eduard for the sample kit and you can get your sample here!
