Early Hawker Typhoon
Brengun have continued their series of the Hawker Typhoon kit in the best possible way- releasing the early version, with car style doors! They have even delivered two kits with similar features and the kits stock code is BRP72006 and BRP72007
Both kits follow the general lines of the previous products, they come in the soft box with nice illustrations on it and inside is plastic frets packed in a plastic bag. There are not so many parts and these are contained on three brown grey plastic fret and one transparent. There is a small sheet of very precisely printed decals and a small etched set. What is interesting is the rigid cockpit rear section part in set BRP72007 and this indicates that a kit could be released as the very early version armed with machine guns only.
Assembly of the kit should not be problem for a somewhat experienced modeler. Elements inside are similar with the first version of the kit but includes a different rear cockpit wall with different head rest on it. Interior color is the standard British Grey Green.
My final choice represents an airplane from No. 183 Squadron, marked as HF-L and I am lucky that some images were available for this machine. It shows some paint worn out on the wings and it has no cover on the wing cannons. At the wing bottoms is the D Day black and white strips, which make this kit so attractive.
This Typhoon kit presents a real pleasure to build and it looks very authentic once complete. It will be a really nice subject to any Typhoon fan and I recommend these kits.
Thanks to Brengun for these sample products.
