Крылатая ракета К-10С Комета-10 or Winged rocket K-10S Comet is what will be mounted beneath the fuselage of this profile :))

I really like the lines of the Tu-16 and enjoy this thread. I've always admired the Tupolev designs and it's neat to see the small details of the Tu-4 (turrets and other small bits) carry over into this beautiful swept-wing ship.

I wonder if the Soviet designers ever gave thought to making the K-10 missile a longer-range weapon in the same way as the U.S. Hound Dog was built.?

I believe Hound-Dog missiles fitted to B-52 bombers even had their engines running to assist during the start of the B-52!

Yes, that's correct, Nico. And the Hound Dogs drew fuel from the B-52 tanks during the takeoff and climb.

I know a fellow who was with an AGM-28 Maintenance Squadron at Clinton-Sherman AFB during the Cold War. It was quite a weapon system for the day.
