Groeten uit Kinderdijkis the name of the painting I curently working on. Kinderdijk is area in Netherlands well known by the windmills and it is very attractive tourist destination. I decide to continue my series of painting but this time with aircraft in low level so I like to use this area as background. Aircraft chosen for this were Starfighter and I also decide to paint early grey pattern which is soon replaced with another type of camouflage.
As well the name remind on old greeting cards I have decide to paint aircraft is the style well known in the '50 and '60. This method features large and visible brush strokes, lack of many surface details, high contrast in shadows and highlight. In first moment I thought that this will be easy as well the same paintings look easy. I was wrong! It would be more easy to paint with as much as possible details which catch our eye and make work more attractive. To paint something simple but in order to make it realistic is not easy way. You see steps in work and I still work on this. At least I have change method and use flat rounded brush which is good for clouds, to paint aircraft. It can go somehow but this is still far away from completed...
