Sketching the Tempest
« on: April 03, 2010, 11:31:36 PM »
Well, as I am working on the model of Tempest Mk V, I decided suddenly (inspired by No1's start of art work on the night scene with Me 262) to start a serial of sketches of Tempest. First one is very rudimentary and bad; didn't care much about proportions, perspective etc, just wanted to start. I hope next few will be much better. :) :-wave

The idea is sound Letipapa, is this a series of concept sketches for a painting? A good start, the only way to get it to where you want it to be is to keep worrking.

Thanks mates. :-flo
Actually this are just very casual drawings; I just had few looks on a model I am building and I draw approximately. Point that I want to force myself, every day to draw, so at one point it will be shameful to do like this, and I will study it more serious. You'll see this, I hope. :))

Here is one more, made just before 5 min.

Thanks Profa, my friend :-flo :-flo

Here is a third sketch,,not a whole plain, but I think it has the best atmosphere of all. Also I put them all together in Photo Shop and played a little.

I still do this drawings with black marker, on the small papers (rest of the electricity, phone and internet bills :-smey). but soon I'll take some real paper and graphite pencil or charcoal.:-wave

Love the 3rd sketch Letipapa, you are right it is the best of them. It just captures the personality of the Tempest the best. The sepia tone composite of the 3 sketches together is also cool, I can see it as a book cover.

Thanks mates :-flo
Yes mattrcaf you are completely right - 3 sketches together actually was idea in my mind of a imaginative book cover! We think same! :-ok :-flo

Of course, I didn't give up, only had little time, but here it is - I continue. One little bigger drawing, but still with very thick markers, chemical pencil, watter and brush. Again I made some variations in "photo shop".

I added three more variants on the previous post.

"..Belgrade from 19Th century..." ha! :-flo

Actually, I was thinking on some small village in France or similar; for me, in this drawing important was an impression of power, a try to succeed to show it, and I think that last details maybe show it, but I am not sure :-think

It is very hard to draw airplane sketches - one is always on the edge to start technical drawing (which is hard in 3D and perspective), and if approach is totally artistic, than there are big chances not to recognize the type. So it is so hard. I think I'll be looking for a solution for long time - so, let it be! :) :-wave

Thank you Santino :-flo I am definite to continue with this work, but these days there is always something to work, and it leaves little time - not enough for peace and concentration. But I do not give up! ;) :-wave
