Another one of PL965, this time in the colours of the USAAF 14th Photo Sqn.
PL965 never flow with the USAAF during WW2.

Sorry to say this one is not a reconnaissance Spitfire, I think what it is, is at a hight altitude Mk.VII fighter, see pictures attached.

I think the next one is the PR.XI, this was the one that was produced in the greater numbers and was also used by the USAAF.
I will have a look through my files once I get home (I'm stuck at this time in the north of England helping to clear Caroles mums house)

Eleven PR IV Spitfires are reckoned to have been supplied to Russia under operations 'Tungsten', 'Orator' and 'Source'.

The serials are known.
