I lost my orientation... is this one the next?
Sorry to say this one is not a reconnaissance Spitfire, I think what it is, is at a hight altitude Mk.VII fighter, see pictures attached.
I think the next one is the PR.XI, this was the one that was produced in the greater numbers and was also used by the USAAF.
I will have a look through my files once I get home (I'm stuck at this time in the north of England helping to clear Caroles mums house)
-
All right- thats why I ask, I have mixed some files... :(
-
Soviet machine... maybe some suggestions about the details, as well I have clear images of PR IV version.
-
Excellent :-ok :-ok
Eleven PR IV Spitfires are reckoned to have been supplied to Russia under operations 'Tungsten', 'Orator' and 'Source'.
The serials are known.
AB132
AB423
AB427
BP884
BP889
BP891
BP917
BP923
BP926
BP929
BR658
All Russian PR.IVs were used by the same unit; 118 ORAP.
-
All right... next one machine coming from your list :))

-
Thank you :)) technical question- did the model XI have in all samples high tail and longer spinner?
Early conversion of the PR.IX to PR.XI had the rounded tail
see - http://www.letletlet-warplanes.com/forum/vazduhoplovna-umetnost-warplane-art/pru-spitfires/msg13116/#msg13116
This was a PR.IX that first flow in Dec 1942, it was transferred to No.1 PRU at Benson for conversion to a PR.XI and was delivered to 541 Sqn in Oct 1943 with its original tail. later models had the high tail. For info, only 16 PR.IX was built.

hi mate,
This is the plane with which Jan Blair shot down a Bf 109 G-6/R3 on 20 February 1944 over the Orkneys. The "109" was Bf 109 G-6/R3, WNr 20537, coded A6+XH, from 1.(F)/Aufkl. Gr 120 at Stavanger-Sola in Norway. Pilote Oblt. Helmut Quednau has been killed.

Are you talking about PS915? On my office system I cannot see the graphics as they are blocked. I will have to check on my mobile......

My info states that PS915 had medium sea grey applied to the wing, tailplane and fuselage uppersurfaces over the overall scheme of PRU blue, with some having the front half of the spinner in medium sea grey
