Late production Mustangs sometimes has a slightly more bulged canopy known as 'Dallas hood' .
Some of the Mustangs operated by the Dutch air force in the Netherlands East Indies were fitted with these hoods!
-
I first time met this type of hood in the old 1/72 scale model of Mustang by Heller.
-
PRU Mustang, not much info about the unit...

PRU Mustang, not much info about the unit...
No. 16 Squadron was an Army Co-operation unit. Which moved to France in April 1940. After only nine days of fighting, the unit was withdrawn to Britain.
For the next three years the squadron operated as a tactical reconnaissance squadron, first around the UK coast line, look for the possible German attacks. In June 1943, the squadron was equipped with Mustang I's.
In September 1944 the squadron became part of the Second Tactical Air Force (2 TAF) and moved to Belgium and completed its service at Eindhoven, in Holland.

Another machine from North Africa :)

:-wave

Two more :-flo
-
Found this during the large 2-days aviation fair at Aviodrome this week-end.
Don't know if it is original or reprint, but even if it is a reprint it is from original AP 2025G-P.N. document of June 1944.
Pilot notes are for UK Mustang Mk. III fitted with Malcom hood.
I had to pay a whole full one EURO for this booklet!!
-
Excellent find Nico :-clap :-ok
-
Main question remains unanswered: is it original or reprint?
In view of the price I paid, I think it is reprint!!
-
At least THIS one is the real original document! Got it some days ago from one of my Aviodrome colleagues.
I already had the scanned version, but now I have also the original 'hard copy' pilot notes!
-
It is impossible to know its originality if you does not have somewhere printed that. So- it is one € and your 1002 nd book :) Good about Machtrainer... 1003 rd book ;)
-
Last one in this series :-tri

Interesting to see this version had a non-retractable tail wheel!
-
I guess this is some kind of local modification

What was normally done in these cases was to simply lock the gear down and remove the gear doors.

Thank you mate :-ok
