What a great shape this Mk was. 15 Mk.IX fighters were converted to PR.IX's at RAF Benson. These versions first started to appear in November 1942, they were a slight improvement on the pervious mark. But they were only a stop-gap for PR Mk XI . For long-range missions they had to have a 'slipper' tank added under the fuselage, as they were not fitted with internal wing tanks.

Maybe you could do a profile of the PR.XI in PINK!

So what is story about... I actually have order to make profile of Spitfire Mk. VII but I did not have layout ready. But I have Mk. V. So first at all I change nose and some details and get Mk. IX. After that I change rudder into the higher one and then in next operation flip whole layout and get other side. Off course some conversions was on demand. After that I convert this port side of Mk. IX into the Mk. VII which I need from the very start. result is here :) Point is that I need for sure few days to make layout from scratch but I did not have few days. So I make it in few hours.

That's right No.1 some PR.XIs were PRU Blue all over.  However, PR.XIs in India had Medium Sea Grey uppersurfaces with PRU Blue undersides.
The USAAF also flow the PR.IX and they have two colour profiles, one was bare metal with red panels under the engine exhaust and red on the rudder. The others carried the normal PRU Blue. Both these types were flown with the 14th Photo Squadrom of the 7th Photo Group which was based at RAF Mount Farm, Dec 1944

The only pink ones I know of were the PR.XI's and the FR.IX's of 16 Sqn RAF. It is my understanding that in the later wars of the war this was the only squadron to operate with "Pink" Spitfires.
The FR.IX was a standard Mk.IX fighter with a F.24 port facing oblique camera fitted.
