Interesting to see that cockpit is closed- I expected to be removed as well pilot is get out or ejected. And this time something for our recce expert  :-razz :-razz

If you read down the forum to the other posts, it looks like a number of pieces of military equipment, i.e. a Hunter and a CVRT (light tank) were purchase, I think the Hunter came from Ebay, and then placed into a lake to be used for underwater drivers. I think that the Hunter canopy was in working order and has been left partly closed so drivers can open it.

Love the 2 Sqn (Written as II(AC) Sqn) Fighter Reconnaissance Mk 10 (FR10)Hunter, my old squadron in Germany in the mid 80's.
II(AC)Sqn flew Hunters in the 60's from RAF Gütersloh. I did contact the owner of the image last year and he gave me permission to use it on my site. Problem being, I still have not had the time to up load it, maybe my next task.
My new job is keeping away from this site and my own  :(

Hi N°1,

Very good job for a very nice shark-shaped airplane.

A detail : the Hunter's canopy had no frame on the rear... as on the Mystère IVA. The stiffener was part of the canopy and moulded with it in one part.
You can see that on the accompanying pictures :

This is correct- instead of that it have one band of Plexiglas glued there and this section is painted in camouflage color.

Not always painted in the camo colours as the photos that I added on my previous post.
