And the very first sample  :-tri This F6F-5, flown by Ensign Burnell of VF-27, had to land on USS Essex when its own carrier (USS Princeton) was hit by a particularly bold attack carried out by a Japanese "Judy" during the Battle of Leyte Gulf, 24 October 1944.
