New relaxed start. This work is just in case... who knows, maybe one day I will have orders :))
-
This will be great!!! :-clap
Will you do some plane with markings or you will stop on the layout?
Maybe Iranian F-14? :)
-
I guess that I will make 30 to 40 color profiles and include all operators so there will be Iran too. Just to have a time...
-
Wooooooohooooooooooooooooo!! :-tri :-clap

I enjoy in this progress!! :-clap
-
It's hard to believe the F-14 is no longer active here in the U.S. Does anyone know a rough number of those still in service with the Iranian forces?
Sall and Nico, those are great photos, and profile is great also, No.1!
-
Iran received in total some 60 Tomcats including spare parts and including Phoenix missiles.
After the revolution all support was stopped but Iranian F-14's have been updated with Russian systems.
Currently some 20 must still be airworthy.
Here is another small image opdate!
-
Thank you friends :) There is remain to do some overlaping panels and stencils on airplane.
-

Development completed (for this variation) and after rest I will make first color profile tonight.
-
Good job mate!! :-clap :-clap
Can't wait profiles! :-clap
-
And color profile is here, machine engaged in Gulf of Sidra accident in 1981 when it score one air kill.
-
Very nice!! :-clap Profile with story, i like this!! :-clap
-
Nobody knows right number of Iranian Tomcat that can fly and fight, because Iran is hiding that information like snake her legs!! ;)
-
I have also heard that Iran was still flying some twenty Tomcats, Nico. Pretty impressive work to keep such an old, complicated, design flying with limited support.
-
Finally some jets :) Very nice work.
And guys... Do you really think that Iranian F-14 would be airworthy for all that years without support from USA? Don't be so naive.
AMARC is full of F-14 spare parts that are worth zillions to Iranian.
-
Time will say all about that... in the event of war I am not sure that they will really count on F-14. Rules will brake for sure. New war will not be local... I guess.
-
Anyway, i like to see Iranian F-14 in the air and with rockets!! :-flo They have very nice camouflages!
I love IRIAF! A loooooot of beautiful planes!! Just say fighters:F-14, F-4, MiG-29, F-5, HESA Saeqeh, Su-24, F-7!! A loooooot of different planes!! :-tri I would like to be on some 'open day' in some Iranian Air Force base and see all this planes!! :-tri
Maybe one day, or in some Iranian Air Museum one day, will see... :-flo

-
Another one ;)
Good one, but You made the same 2 mistakes as I did. Wrong vertical fin, and antennas behind cockpit are too big.
-
No good close ups to regret :(

Yes, if You zoom in this photo, You can see old style hexagonal stiffners at the top of the tail.
All Iranian Tomcats have those.
This is correct tail for Iranian F-14

This is new tail with different stiffners plate and new bottom root of the tail

-
With deep respect to draftsman... any image of original subject related to the tail? And I agree, antenna just behind cockpit is shorter height. Is this Iranian feature only?
-
This is the best what I have, but You can see the point.

Question: did the Iranians use the Phoenix AAM??
-
I talk few years ago with friend who was involved in process of delivery of Tomcat in Iran and he say that they did not received Phoenix. Some data say they get few and that one sample was exchanged with Soviets for some technical assistance in fleet maintenance (also mentioned one Tomcat exchanged but as for missile, no proof). Color profile is based on image where it have missiles shown and my guess it is made during the test in USA.
-
Hi mate,
Very nice profiles. Bravo ! I like Tomcat very much.
I have some pretty pictures of Tomcats aboard some US aircraft carriers in Marseilles...
Jicehem :-wave
