Interesting times when you still could roll an aircraft out of the hangar without using any machines!
Pilot shown is Geoffry De Havilland, son of the company founder, who was later tragically killed when flying this type.....
-
Thanks for info ;) I am wonder why they did not use any tractor for the field movements?
-
How beautiful airplane - a real swallow. A little bit strange variant numbers: TG283, TG306, VW120 - what is the meaning (engine types maybe :-think). Seems it flew great, what went wrong?

New update ;)

Really looking great!
As you may know, this plane had NO ejection seat!
Pilot wore simple leather helmet//
-
Thank you mate :-ok I know about the early jet pilot wear, just to find any specific image to see how this look like, I hope next day that most of the details will be completed.

Painting complete :-tri

Really nice!!! One detail: this high-speed testplane shows open slats, but that was only on 1st machine where it was fixed in open position. At high-speed flight with 2nd machine wing slats were normally closed.
However, since plane crashed moments later nobody will know what exactly happened.
So, open slats: OK, maybe shortly before breaking up in the air///Who knows!!!!!
-
Not problem to make it closed ;)

Very nice, Srecko.
I am reading a biography of John Derry, the test pilot, at the moment - he broke the sound barrier in another of these aircraft later on, but I haven't reached that part of the book yet.

Great work.I have always admired you for your skill of replicating aircraft with such detail. When I was younger I used to sketch with a pencil mostly. Then my father enlisted me in a architechture highshool but after I finished the 4 years I went in a totaly different way(with computers) and left drawing.
-
Thank you ;) Maybe you will back one day to the art :)
