My first guess would be an orange rudder... But I've found a profile of a Dutch P-40 with white rudder, fuselage and wing bands, so I'm stuck...

Another  possibility, however remote, is that the rudder was slightly turned in the pic - thus reflecting more light and looking lighter than the rest of the cammo. What do you think about that? :-think

Cheers from Brazil,

Sergio :)

My opinion is light blue- the same color as the color of register number on fuselage, in front of windscreen.

Yes, and now with serial no. C3-526 on engine cowling!
Planes were operated from Australia. After the war the P-40's were used in the 'Political campaigns' against Indonesian independence soldiers until they were written off.
Also rear fuselage section with registration and Ducth marking was alu.
Photos show that ailerons were also alu!

To your profile, No.1: I think C3-526 on cowling was more prominent (white, maybe?), while american roundel seems faded, as the rest of the plane... :-think
I have one Hasegawa 1/72 in stash, now have to buy another :-wall and build this dutch sample, too beautiful not to be done... :-ok

According to J.N.Greuter photos of the P-40N's the number on the cowling was white. The undersurface of the fuselage is grey but i do not know the colournumber

You guys are incredible! :-eek I couldn't say anything from those photos, especially to distinct white from aluminium, or pale gray...  Must be that all existing information about these airplanes put together with this photo's gives the result.
My respect! :-obey :-salut
