I'm trying another approach with better results at least with this one I'm getting close to metal "slightly Look"  :-think

Blank canvas with a monochrome linear gradient, search for the best angle

From the photoshop filters menu, choose Filter -> Noise -> Add Noise

Apply the "noise" to taste

Filters -> Blur -> Motion Blur, applying  blur to the pixels horizontally. play  with how much the pixels are blurred

Also try different opacity and scale  percentages with the monochrome linear gradient

This is very very basic, now the gigantic step will be apply this to the Sabre, some thinking will be needed  :-think :-think :-think :-think :-think

Comments are very very welcome

Come on  don't do that  I'm also a beginner with no experience with metal finish this will be my first one and I have decided to do it not because it's easy
but because its difficult

I'm not expecting great results with my profile but this will be a start the next ones will be better, but I will never find out if I don't try

Where do you need help?

Let me show what I have done with a lot of thinking and "tenacity"
the metal look is improving  :)

  Before I do the shadows and highlights, I wanted to get the pilot where he belongs.  Introducing Lt. Col. James Carlyle, USAF.  As long as you don't get too close, I think he'll do.  :-salut;
