Thank you. To regret I don't know who is the man but think he is maybe from recce Jasta, Fliegertruppe in WW1. Final art will include him standing in front of the airplane. To regret I have problem with rank markings and decoration. Don' know actual colors.

Hi Nº 1,

I can anticipate some very good work added to the character, because the link you have supplied it will lead to that, excellent link by the way!!

I have a question, unfortunately not directly related to to WW1 pilots but with WW2 German pilots

I'm presently doing a profile,or shall I say trying to do a profile of a BF 109 F- 2 when finished it will represent the aircraft of Hans "Assi" Hahn Gruppenkommandeur of III Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 2 "Richthofen in summer of 1941
I'm using Profile Publications Nº 184 as a resource and they publish an image of the above mentioned aircraft painted with red in the engine and rudder, online resources are giving the same aircraft but painted using yellow I'm a bit confused can you
clear this matter or perhaps supply me  a link  about this issue?

Hi Metar :)
Profile Publications are one good source but is a very old, if the photo source is only B/W is difficult understand exactly the real color... In my experience I fount big mistake about color reference in old publications... :-think
I attach one kagere color profile from JG2 1936-1941 - Kagero ML7 if I found some photo I send to you
regards
Santino :-wave

Hi Santynus,

thank you very much for the kagere color profile which confirms what I have read on line

Any way the second photo finishes the matter with Hahn himself confirming  the use of yellow

Yellow it will be!!

Great help Santyrus, thanks
