Warplane Art / Re: Armstrong Whitworth Albemarle
« on: May 11, 2011, 02:05:35 PM »
Indeed, the Albemarle is an interesting plane - I really didn't realize that it would be a complex job to do this one! It'll be for the Market Garden book which is in progress right now.
I studied the photo, and saw that the linnen coverings are actually extending further up to the fuselage, even the fairing around the mid upper turret is linnen. Does every body agree? :-)
Regards,
Edwin

The picture Srecko placed is spot-on, the best reference for your paint work! Good luck with finishing this nice little bird! I did mine some 10 years ago, it's still a nice little kit to look at!

These are in Dutch service too! There are some troubles with them - they are too heavy! The vehicles are continuously burning op their barings... Now they will be operated without the extra armour panneling.

Combat Warplanes / That nasty Romeo Ro.1....
« on: March 10, 2011, 09:40:31 AM »
Hi there folks!
I am trying to get my hands on good quality pictures of the Romeo Ro.1. This was the Fokker C.5 variant which was built under license by AFM Romeo in Italy.
There were several 100's built, but the availability of good pictures is making me mad... there is very little available.
Who can help me, in any way? Tips, suggestions... everything is welcome!
Cheers,
Edwin

Dear all,
Thank you for all your kind words! The event last thuesday was a really great way to round up a work of so many years. The compliments and positive reactions are very humbling indeed. I was very glad to meet No.1 and spend a nice afternoon with him and a lot of other aviation friends!

Regards,
Edwin

Dear friends,
It's time to announce that last friday, the books have left the printer and our now officialy DONE!
This was a long, long, project! I started it six years ago and together with Srecko, spent many hours behind the computer, studying pictures. I am really happy with the results! Also, for the modeller, this book will be a very nice reference.
Now its time to enjoy the "birth" of my book, and will continue with the next part of the story: foreign use!

I understood those Italian tanks and armoured vehicles were real coffins, because the armour was rivetted instead of welded steel plate.

Awesome job! Don't forget his walking stick, he holds it in his left hand, it is difficult to see, because of the shade of the antennae.

The Dutch camouflage colours were identical to the Fokker D.21 etc. Also, the nose was different, with a longer enginecover.
