One sample...

Cool, you've got to do one with invasion stripes.

Number 1 one of the first Aviation magazines that I had has a kid had a good feature on the Albemarle. It was an Air Classics from the early 1980's. LOL!

I will check my files to see if I have anything. It looks good so far!

Progress, some fuselage shading and panel lines, so far things are moving quickly.

Excellent subject, Paul!

If you ever see fit, I'd very much enjoy a Mk. II profile in the future. I've got a plan to build a radial engined Lancaster from the Tamiya 1/48th kit......someday in the future.

A mark II is in the plans, starting with the merlin engined lancs then will do the radial engine version.

Time for a new profile, this time a Lancaster.

I am trying a different approach this time, saving out all major areas as seperate files, wings, fuselage, fin etc. Lancaster has variants with different engines, fuselage, turrets etc, just like the Halifax. I learned the hard way on the Halifax so this time I will apply what I've learned and see if it makes the project go faster.
BTW, I live 40 minutes from the one of only two flying lancasters in the world, so I have lots of images and a real example to work from.

Great subject, I have to do one this year as well so I will be paying close attention.

FYI No.1, the March issue of Flypast or Aeroplane (can't remember which one) has a nice article on the Stirling if you are looking for extra material. A forgotten airplane, no examples exist today, it will be great to see your work bring it back to life.

Thank you all for your comments and support! I found that last profile very challenging and frustrating.

I ended up doing the wing and several other parts in different files and I'm starting to wonder if that isn't the way
to go.

Fuselage one file, wing another, tail another etc.

Does anyone else work that way?

Cheers!
Matt

This one took forever, Mk V Series A.

A different wing and engines. This one is from 644 Squadron soon after D-Day, it was used to tow Hamilcar and Horsa gliders. Top turret removed, paratrooper hatch on the bottom and tow hook for glider. Nose art is of the British Airborne pegasus symbol.
