Hi mates,

I don't know if you have the same feeling when you put together an old model and your last model, and compare them!! For me, it is very special to see the skills that I had and now. Related of this, I remember what I was doing in my life when I did an old model. I like to do this exercise making a timeline enjoying all related in my surroundings with builing models.

By other hand, Monogram has a great shape in his old models, you can compare them vs. Tamiya or Hasegawa and get a surprise!!

Two thumps up!! Scott.

 :-tri Applying decals :-tri

Before, I spray a light coat of Testors Glosscote, not overall, just where was need it. This version has few decals to glue......

I have this Aeromaster set that I got from a friend of mine...Instructions sheet has some mitakes, so I followed a recommendation that I received many years ago from a very good friend (one of my masters), "Never pay attention to instruction sheets, look for photo references!!" As you can find, rudder is green on it, but in all photos that I have, there is any indication of that.....

Again, I convert to B&W to compare

I helped me with this ruler to place decal on right position (90 degree), also, tray is very useful.....

I soft decals with Micro Sol

I convert last photo to B&W to compare....

Now, weathering processs is coming......

Hi mates,

I am owing this update since time ago  :-red. I have posted some of these photos in FB without a description. So, here I go.....

As soon as I remove all masking off I realized that I had painted very good white bands and Savoy's cross in the rudder :-red, then I re-masked them to give a thin coat of Gunze Sangyo's flat white.....

White applied..

When paint dried...I did a mistake :-wall :-wall

Well, I gave it time to leave drying per 4 days....... :-think, then I fixed the problem.....

Then, more thin coats...

Again, making tape off

Before to paint them, I analized original photo of a/c to finish camouflage color.

If you compare, there is no a light color in front of cockpit, and if you see, also there is two different shades of tone (one of them, shiny, beside of cockpit, and darker (flat) where is skeleton. So, I painted with free hand technique. I added a drop of Grimy Black (Floquil) to MM Vert to change tone to get a recent applied coat in original a/c.

An experiment, covering to color to B&W photo.....

Now, D.520 is ready to receive diagonal bands and french insignias covered with Grigio Azzuro Chiaro 1 (this color was used for this propose following RA standards). I found that diagonal bands were 30 centimeter width, so, I calculated 6.25mm at scale. Fortunately, Tamiya's masking tape has 6mm width, so I cut a strip to place it as jig, temporary.

These are paints that I used for camouflage

Now, ready for decals......
