Warplane Art / Re: Cessna L-19 Bird Dog

I'm sorry to bring this back to the top. I'm drawing decals (the Airfix 1/72nd kit) for an USAF FAC trainer flown out Florida during the late sixties. This airplane had the red and white candy stripe aft fuselage. It also had the top of the wings painted red and white, a very colourful scheme.

What I need to know is, what does the placard say beneath the left forward winshield? Under the serial number/type placard.

Thanks.

Alex

Thank you friends for your kind words ;) C-49 and C-53 only if I get direct order, to regret I am overload with orders, can not find time to do anything for our pleasure :( Sorry :(

No worries, bud. I understand... I was just thinking of the military impressed civilian DC-3's during World War Two. They were given these unusual type designations.

Either one would look wonderful. For dramatic effect you could paint the C-46 struggling with a motor shut down.

Ice Pilots.... I'm totally addicted to that show; makes me miss my days flying freight. OR NOT :)

Srecko,

Looks real sharp. I can imagine how colourful it would be if you painted one as a formation ship...

Yeah a good start. Work done in illustrator has a different look to it than work done in photoshop, it all depends on what you are trying to achieve with the profile. Your image reminds me of what you would see on the instructions of a model kit explaining the paint scheme, decals etc.

That's how I started... I do draw decal art, mainly for model airliners. I came here to see how to do my work in PS and bring my AI skills to a new level.

Hi Everyone,

I'm a new guy here with a very rough draft of a L-1049.

I use Illustrator, but have no clue on how to use photoshop.

All the best.
