Just received a copy of a brand new book on Rohrbach  released by Rob Mulder in Norway (WWW.europeanairlines.no).
It is A4 size, hardcover and is illustrated with a lot of rare photographs and drawings.

Don't forget the Küchemann 'carrots' on the wing's trailing edge as fitted at the later production models!

The last picture shows Meteor WA820 experimentally fitted with two Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire jet engines.
It was the most powerful Meteor to fly and the airframe had to be strengthened!

The first two Dominator prototypes were quite different from the final production version with a twin fin layout and a cockpit type that wat later used for the B-36 bomber.
The third prototype already had a single fin, although in combination with the original glazed cockpit.

This is the Dominator in full color, showing the first production model with the final enlarged vertical tail.
It was a fail-safe project for a long-range heavy bomber in case the B-29 Superfortress would run into insolvable problems.
The B-29 did not fail; in spite of a number of teething problems and with large-scale production of the B-29 only a relative small number of B-32's was built.
The type was just in time operational to be used on a small scale during the last months of the war against Japan.

We all know that the He 111 started its life disguised as a passenger plane for the Deutsche Lufthansa DLH. In reality they were spy planes fitted with camera's and flown by Luftwaffe pilots wearing DLH uniforms. In spite of this, a small batch of He 111 was supplied for just commercial flying. DLH flew these planes for a short period only since they proved to be uneconomical.
This He 111 variant was fitted with radial air-cooled engines and also visited in the late thirties Schiphol airport. They were soon taken over by the Luftwaffe as transport and liaison/training aircraft.

Looks like the 737 Max 8, now all grounded! Last spring we flew with a Max 8 to Lanzarote for a one week holiday and all I can say is that the Max 8 is a very comfortable and quiet machine to fly with....

The white numbers were only used on the fake operational machines with camouflage scheme.
The prototypes flew in all-over alu with civil registrations.
