Some times ago, my friend said me that I've painted for her two horse figures for Sirokko and Copain but only one for Riboy... :))
OK, message well received; I begin a new figure of that wonderful horse that have won the last dressing contest he participated :-tri
Figure was bought at Utterlyhorses.com. Nice enough, cheap price. I just had to sand the name of the producer ; to complete the mane and to modify the position of the tail at the request of my friend...
-
All right, lets enjoy ;)
-
Primer done. I'm glad, the part of the mane I've made is well integrated in the figure...
-
Good stand position, look mighty :)
-
Thank you!
-
Maskol is used to protect the white surfaces...
-
Still most wanted product ;)
-
Tamiya FX-52 airbrushed as acrylic base for oil paint...
-
You spray wood base too?

You spray wood base too?
That base is just a base used for work; it's not the definitive one ;)
-
Thanks :)
-
Maskol removed...
Oil paint will start soon!
-
:-ok
-
Thank you!
-
The sjoes are painted with oil paint and the head painting corrected. Eyes contour also corrected...
-
Shapes are there :)
-
;)
-
Oil base paint: Vandyke Brown + a little bit of Black Lamp...
-
Effect is so good!
-
Thank you!
I love to oil paint horses... :)
-
Riboy asks for long and attentive work: mix of Vandyke Brown and blacl Lamp in different proportions, to obtain many nuances...
-
What a shine!
-
Thank you! :)
-
Great one yet again!!!
-
Thank you Scott!
-
Mane and tail painted with a mix of black lamp, Vandycke Brown and... Blue
-
Blue gives this specific hue

Blue gives this specific hue
It's a figurinist that said me to use a point of blue for mane... Most important is to have nuances between the different black tones ;)
-
Shadows made with a mix of BlackLamp, Vandyke Brown and Burnt Umber; mix more darker of course...
-
:-clap
-
Thank you!
Next step: the eyes...
-
Lights were made on a very light (let say "subtle") way... But I like the result... Artificial light gives no justice to the result
(OK, not really understandable in English with all those "lights" :-green
For once better in French:
1st light of the sentence = éclaircie
2nd light = léger
3rd light = éclairage
-
Look like complete :)
-
Yes, it remains just the eyes to paint.
For the eyes, I will use acrylics. Next week, letting some time to the oil paint to dry completely.
-
Eyes painted with acrylics (flat brown, black and a drop of white for the light + gloss varnish).
Now, I have to work on the base...
First two photos artificial light, last two with flash
-
Full of true senses :)
-
;)
-
Base finished...
Now, time to go to Spitfires!
-
Spitfires :))
-
Just for fun: photos taken with daylight.
So you can see the exact colors...
