Stupid question- did the Saburo Sakai ever flew on it? Not operationally, just try or test?
-
WOW Tweety, such fast work :-eek You will put us old guys :-wise to shame building that fast! Nice work so far :-ok

Why should Saburo Sakai fly the Raiden? It was Japanese AAF type and Sakai was Japanese Navy pilot! Final answer must be in his biography (which I don't have).
-
I read it long time ago but can not remember is this type ever mentioned, so I wanted to clean up confusion.

Excellent, Tweety! Nice choice; nice kit and nice work!
N°1, I think that Saburo Sakay flew on Zeron A6M5...
-
Nice work so far, Tweety. S. Sakai wrote of the N1K series, which he did fly, as handling like a truck, Nico, compared to A6Ms he always preferred most. I believe he also claimed to have test flown an A7M prototype at least once. If he did so, I would presume he had clearance to fly whatever he liked. I would guess he flew a J2M at least once. Whether he did so in combat, I cannot now remember.
