Polikarpov Po 2 of the North Korea air force
« on: April 06, 2014, 11:36:44 PM »
Hello  :-salut

Here is my last build, a Polikarpov Po-2 of North Korea during the Korean war. This is the KP kit. It seems that KP is now a Hungarian manufacturer (?).

Excellent one! An amazing fact that such "obsolete" airplanes were still earning their keep at the time of jet fighters.

Hello :-salut
I learned this fact because I ordered directly to them (In France there is no import of KP kits... :( ) and I received the parcel from Hungary.
I ordered the French (genuine) version of the Bloch MB-200. The first edition of which was the Aero version. I ordered too an Il-10 that I'm building to add it to my Korean war series.

Are there other photographs of North Korean Il-10s other than those of Nos "44" and "55" found at kimpo by American troops ?

Dear friend, I am not so much informed and data is not much available. I know there was Soviet unit 537 ShAP with Il-10 but also Chinese unit with Il-10. Images I have is in attach. Please note sample machine 39, it look like it have more colors in camouflage, very close or identical to the pattern attached. I hope this help a bit.

Thank you very much. I didn't know 4th and 7th photos. 3rd photo depicts No. 55 and is on the wrong side : look at the opening glazed panel of the canopy which opens to the left side of the fuselage, and the pitot tube which must be on the starboard wing.

You're right. An Il-10 (KP kit) and an F-94B Starfire (Heller kit) almost finished...

Hi No. 1 :-salut

I found a new photograph of a North-Korean Il-10 at Sinanju. That will be the markings of my kit...

From the book : Air War over Korea (Squadron Signal Publications, 1982)

Great, I am very glad you have your choice. This plane is fade out, hardly to get what paint could be over, single green or more colors.
