Well, following conversation with Domi from RetrokiT, I have to present for Mons expo, Belgium, an egg-plane with detail set.
As I'm not sure at all that my F-16 will be ready (problems with the chosen deco), I begin in parallel this one...
Nice little kit; nice little set and as deco I will use a decal sheet for a "Tuskegee" aircraft.
Big work to do is made: to make place in the cockpit for the detail set...
The pilot of the kit (bust) will of course not be used. And detail set parts are ready for painting.
-
Egg world is expanding :))
-
Sure! :)
-
This kit looks very nice! :-ok :-clap
-
White primer airbrushed
-
White, white, white...
-
Yes :))
-
Primer Day!!!
-
Cockpit interior painted. I've added some touches of yellow and red; not authentic but will give a better appealing... :))
-
Good hand brush work mate ;)
-
Thank you! ;)
-
Cool! :-clap
-
Your egg-samples are awesome!Well done...
-
Thank you!
-
Pébéo gloss varnish
-
I like how cockpit looks! :-clap
-
Thank you! ;)
-
Oil wash made yesterday. Today, Pébéo matt varnish then pastels and gloss varnish on the instrument panel glasses. Detail set inserted in the cockpit then half fuselages, wings are glued.
-
Wonderful :-ok Detailed like the 'real' plastic kit :-clap
-
This detail set is excellent indeed :)
-
This is looking great!
-
Thank you Scott!
Today, putty (I used Tamiya for the half fuselages and Vallejo for wings/fuselage)
-
Little gaps, not problem at all :)
-
Very light work, yes... ;)
-
Propeller painted...
-
Good ;)
-
Thank you! ;)
-
Nice progress mate, and looks very good! :-clap
-
;)

During my participation to the Orcards expo, England, I worked on the egg-Mustang: sanding; canopy and I made a flat tyre with Miliput
-
Good that you find time, from my side I would drink beer during whole event :))
-
Well... English beer is not as good as Belgian one...
Better to work in such a case :))
-
Nice work so far. What camo are you gonna paint ? Or better a shiny aluminum finish?

Guatemalian three tones camo... Very used too...
-
Canopy is masked. Ready for painting!
-
Good progress and I LOVE the paint scheme choice!
-
Thank you Scott! ;)
-
White primer airbrushed
-
Camouflage coming :))
-
Yes!!! :)
-
Goody!
As I said earlier, I really love the camouflage schemes that were employed by the Central American nations. Ross Grady used to fly a former Bolivian Cavalier Mustang to many airshows here in the States and I always liked seeing it in its original camo.
-
If you have images of his Mustang, maybe this can be of help for any of future build ;)
-
I think I took photos of that machine in the 1980s so I should have them somewhere. At the time it was registered C-GMUS but has since found a new owner and was repainted in U.S. markings.
-
Painting of wings undersurfaces. The rest will be camoflaged...
-
Nice shade mate, lets see the rest of the work :)
-
Work of the week end:
1) Maskink tape on the grey; then sand is airbrushed.
2) Masking tape on sand; then medium green is airbrushed.
3) Masking tape on medium green; then dark green is airbrushed
4) Removing of th masking tapes; corrections of minor errors
5) Weathering with Citadel Colors Mithril Silver; wheels are also painted
6) fading of the colors with a mix of 10% sand and 90% thinner
7) painting of the exhausts
-
:-clap :-clap :-clap
-
What a work!!!!
-
Well, I have continued a little bit...
Decals are set
-
Very precise work!!
-
Thank you!
-
This is a great Egg!
-
Thank you Scott!
...And it looks far better with the spinner!!!
-
Pébéo gloss varnish was airbrushed on the decals. Then, I made an oil wash and finally asembled the elements...
Presentation is probably not the definitive one...
-
Cool! :-clap :-clap
-
Pébéo matt varnish airbrushed, and masks removed
-
And finally, weathering with Tamiya pastels and MiG pigments for smoke.
The egg-Mustang is finished, but presentation not. Some news soon I hope...
-
Beautiful! :-clap I like it mate! :-clap
-
Look great ;)
-
Thank you! :)
-
Really awesome Mustang! (You're correct about adding the spinner--it's so much more streamlined! :-cool)
-
Thank you! ;)
Scott, confirm me by MP your adress please...
-
:-jump :-jump :-jump :-ok :-ok :-clap :-clap so sweet and interesting
-
Thank you Tweety! :)
-
When it's finished it's not finished... :))
My friend Domi sculpted for me a special pilot for my egg plane; a stunning and beautiful one...
...And I'm awaiting for some cactus, found on eBay to decorate the background of the scene...
-
Yes!!!
-
:-ok
-
And here is the pilot with the pens on his helmet; and with primer applied. Stunning!!!
-
Great! Look like Aztec warrior :-ok
-
I would say Mayan... But not sure of that... ;)
-
Great warrior regardless of heritage!
-
One entire day of work...
...Still not finished yet!
-
Very colorful ;)
-
Some work yesterday and today: the base was prepaired with Piedra Pomez + Vallejo "Flat Earth". Emplacements of pilot and cactus were marked.
Then the pilot and ara received an oil wash; cactus were painted (oil paint) and are actually drying before oil wash; then aircraft and pilot were glued on the base...
-
Almost there mate :-ok
-
;)
-
I like it!
-
Thank you Scott!
And now, it's finished: I have made an oil wash on the cactus and glued them in position.
Hope you like it... :))
-
Wonderful :-ok :-clap
-
Thank you my friend! ;)
-
Well, I think, really, that I cannot understand what "finished" want say...
I was not totally happy with the ground rendering. A little bit too dark, and a little bit too glossy for my taste...
Today I've used MiG pigment P028 "European Dust" that I have applied with a paintbrush on the ground. Effect is from far better; that was what I really wanted to obtain!
Now, really, really,
...It's finished! :-green :-green :-green
-
To understand what I want say about the ground, compare both photos here: first without, and second with MiG pigment used...
-
No doubt that it give some level of reality ;)
-
Thank you my friend! ;)
-
CUTE !!! :-clap :-clap :-clap :-obey

Thank you Tweety!
