I've used stretched sprue tree material for the antenna wires, Nico. After testing for some time I've decided that Tamiya trees work the best and give any thickness I wish.
No.1, we can find you one of these kits pretty easily, I think. I have most of my decal sheet left for another machine, too!
I am interested in building one of the "new generation" Great Wall TBDs, but the price is way too much for my budget......
Here's a little more history on this build: The finished model represents the section leader's airplane of the third section of Torpedo 6 based on the U.S.S.
Enterprise. This particular airplane carried Bureau No. 0346 and later was used for Atlantic patrol on
Ranger. This was one of the lucky TBDs as it survived until stricken from the Navy books in the early days of 1944.
As for my history, I first built a model of 6-T-16 when I was very young. I used the Airfix kit from the late 1960s or early 70s and my cousin helped me to build it. We used a Scale Modeler magazine profile for reference and it actually has a couple of the color photos of this machine in it also. As you can see from the sole remaining part of my first build, I was not too steady with the brush yet!
