Title: MiG-21f featuring Balkan Models
Post by: No.1 on October 25, 2010, 05:27:12 PM
Greetings all,

this is urgent build and as well this is not main goal to focus on the same kit but just to make kit for the review of the new decal manufacturer Balkan Models. So many of details which could be enhanced and upgraded on this kit will not be done in this build and kit will be made 'as is'. Basic kit is excellent Revell kit in 1/72 scale. First set of images are one preserved sample, images Bill Spidle.

This kit is made today during the brake between the jobs. It is on its legs now and wait for final fittings and painting. Note archive image from my collection and some close up details of the landing gear.

Coming nicely...

I see on your workbench that you're using Humbrol acrylics: how are these?

Humrol acrylics is very good for me, they can be used by brush or airbrush, excellent covering and fast drying. They need very good base so I use Guzne Mr. Surfacer 500 as base coat (diluted with nitro)

The kit is completed but I am not capable to make any image in the moment, hope I could arrange few of them next morning. Few images as interesting point about the position of the serial number as well star on flag and trim area of the flag. Also it look like that not many stencils were used at all in the very early version of this machine in Yugoslav service.
