Excellent finish!!!

Here is the finished MiG, in the colors of the USAF "YF-110" as tested at Groom Lake. This airplane had been flown from Egypt to Israel by a defecting pilot and was then sent on to the U.S. after the Israelis had examined and tested it. The USAF gave it the name YF-110 and put it through a long series of tests, studying it for weaknesses and strengths. The test remarks are quite interesting to read. I used these for most of the images during the build.

I must say, the Trumpeter kit was a joy to put together! It offers a fairly relaxed build with one exception, getting the opened canopy properly installed. I made two small metal rods to hold it up and another small support wire at the hinging point. Other than that it's pretty much out-of-the-box:
