Dear friends,
you have seen this kit some time ago when I receive it and today I start first work step on it. As in many cases, this begin with cockpit. Interesting detail is that part are very good molds, they are crisp and flush free but they are not numbered so it is necessary to follow parts diagram in assembly instruction.
:-flo
-
Go ahead Srecko! :-clap :-flo
-
Lysander is a sweet aircraft; I'm impatient to see your progress... :)
-
Thanks ;)
-
I get some little time to make progress, hope I could be able to paint it in interior color.
-
Good mate! :-clap Is this black primer?
-
Yes, it is Vallejo and very good! Apply by brush and very good pliable.
-
A lot of work in cockpit and still far from complete...
-
:-ok
-
Excellent!!! Another aircraft I find very sympathic... You desserve it very well, mate!
-
Thank you ;) I have nervous moments... it have frame construction on side and some panels goes on it. So- instruction make wrong numbers so I have to remove all parts and prepare other part for the same work.
-
I have nervous moments...
So state of mind is as usual, nothing exceptional here ;)
-
Well... :( Not my source of problem
-
Today's progress ;)
-
I like it! Good work! :-clap
-
Great!
-
Beautiful work, No.1.
-
Thank you ;)
-
Some progress made today ;)
-
More assembly progress. Work on glass is a little bit tricky as well it is separated in several elements.
-
Nice! :-ok
-
Wow! Cockpit is stunning... Not easy to fit I think?
-
With razor blade and finger pressure- it is easy ;)
-
Really looking nice. :-love
-
Thank you ;) This is rear cockpit canopy fitting :-kr
-
Hard work...
-
Yes :(
-
Some works this morning ;)
-
Good! :-ok
-
Excellent masking work, and nice pre-shading!
-
Aha :) Pre shading is actually sanding of surface with 800 grit sand paper, this is my standard surface preparation, work perfect for any coat which is used later. In this moment kit is assembled and under black primer, image will to follow, just to relax a little bit.
-
Here is the kit in current state ;)
-
:-ok
-
Great!
...And thanks for the tip...
-
Beautiful bird...
-
Thank you friends :) Now it is time to continue to the paintings and from the only image I have of this machine, I have noted that flap on engine cowling and wheel spats have work out paint. So I put the silver on that area. Also engine is in the position but no front ring, this is collector and in complete different colors (natural metal). It will be more easy to add in final assembly steps.
-
Looking great as usual!
I just discovered yet another way to represent the color of the exhaust ring that No.1 mentioned . I've started using MM Metalizer Exhaust or Burnt Metal with Brass mixed in to change the tone as needed.
Can't wait to see the final product of this thread!

:-ok
-
Topside grey was paint two days before but did not have battery for camera to make image

Excellent work, mate...

Good job. This plane have hugeee wings!! :-eek
-
Thank you. Decal is on, if everything going to be all right, this will be completed tomorrow :-flo
-
:-clap :-clap
-
Excellent and fast work...
-
Looking good!
-
Thank you friends :) Just to recover from strong headache and I will complete this. It is just hour or two of work...
-
This is completed... I go to lay down now :(
-
Good job! :-clap :-clap
Hope you will be better soon! :-flo
-
Fast work... too fast, if you ask me... Nice bird, though :-ok
-
Thank you :)) Well, if you add that I have couple of days that I even did not touch a kit, it is not fast build. Talking in work hours average 1/48 kit could be done in 25 to 35 hours and this is few days (if we work on kit eight hours a day). but I will try to make some kit really fast, not in order of hurry but to reserve two or three days and work only that.
-
Well, I don't like it... I LOVE IT!!! ;)
-
:))
-
Nice work there, liked the worn finish on the wheel spats!
-
Great job, No.1! :-love :-clap
I had the privilege of climbing around on the Lysander that used to belong to Don or Dwight? (can't remember the name) Brooks before it was donated to the Smithsonian. A HUGE airplane when you stand next to it!
-
Thanks friends ;) This is way to go- to have direct experience with real aircraft!
-
It looks great at the end :)
