Just about ready for painting, only a few more details to add before the first color goes on.

January Group Build - MiG-21

Sall, when I installed the flaps I found that they can droop just a tiny bit from the neutral position and this gives a nice look. The next '21 I build will have them full down, I think.

The surface detail is quite wonderful. Lower surfaces are painted:

I have finally wake up and here is my progress. All parts are now under basic coat so later today I will paint all interior and when dry assembly etched as well plastic parts. Due to bad light equipment I am afraid that I will not be able to make any valuable images to share progress :( Sorry  :-red

That looks familiar! :) I really like this kit very much.

I notice that the PE made specifically for the Eduard kit is much different than the set I used. On the one for the Academy kit the side consoles and instrument panel are all one piece and you simply bend them along the provided lines. I thought that might be awkward but it worked perfectly, even though I was using the pieces on the Eduard fuselage.

Small update on mine--when I added the intake lip (a separate ring that glues to the front of the fuselage) I managed to bash the radome and split the fuselage halves apart......... :-red :-roll No big worry, it was easily fixed, but it does confirm that every build has a problem somewhere along the way. Maybe my bad luck will be the only problem for all the members of this GB!

First top color applied, perhaps the masking can go on tomorrow.

My kit is also in similar stage and just few minutes ago I decided to make it with closed canopy. And I have few small errorrs in same area but fix it fast.
