Three of Pierre Clostermann's Tempest Vs.
« on: December 14, 2012, 11:12:26 PM »
Kits of some Hawker Tempest Vs having been flown by French ace, Pierre Clostermann during duty in the R.A.F. :
At RAF 274 Squadron in March 1945. The kit is Revell's (1962) :

At RAF 56 Squadron in March-April 1945. The kit is Heller's (1978) :

It must be noted that the streamlinings between underwing fuel tanks and wings were actually in clear soft plastic.

At RAF 3 squadron in Aptil-May 1945. The kit is Heller's :
There is no serial-number on the fuselage but is was NV994.

The post-war Clostermann's Tempest in August 1945 just before Clostermann left the RAF. The kit is Frog's (1967) with Max Abt decals. This has been partially restored due to time damages...

When it was brand-new in 1969 :

My first Revell Tempest V, in 1967, with Max Abt decals :

To note : on JF°E, NV994 the serial is missing because I forgot it.
