Here are the finished Yak-7V in postwar Polish markings, and the LaGG-3 in winter configuration:

Sorry about the photos, we have rain and wind in my "outdoor photo studio". I'll take a few more when the rains stop.

Thanks, y'all!

Here are a few more photos of my latest Soviet projects, as promised.

First, the LaGG-3. This LTD kit was a little bit of a challenge, being engineered as a short-run kit, but it still built up without too many pitfalls. Much easier than a vacuform or full-resin kit but it's probably less refined than the later ICM kit. I used my own skis with various spares box bits to attach them to the landing gear spindles. The tailwheel assembly with skid came from the ICM Yak-7V. Also the bomb racks and bombs are from an ICM Yak. I had one photo only of this machine, showing to good advantage the very odd partial winter camouflage application.

Now the Yak trainer, pretty much right from the ICM box. This is a straightforward build except for the wing root intakes which are not molded open. These took some time and drilling to open. Other than that, just a few little detail bits in the cockpits and scratchbuilt sliding canopy segments. The Polish decals came from the Yak-9 decal sheet from earlier build, and the numeral 4 from spares box. I must also mention that this is not finished--after clear varnish was applied I realized that I'd reversed the insignia on the right vertical fin!! :-wall :-wall :-wall :-/......and I didn't have a spare here. So, other decals are coming via post office. Also I knocked the aft right exhaust stack loose during the photo shoot. :-roll I'll fix my errors and post a photo of the corrected machine later.

A tiny bit of progress on the next Yak in my projects-pile. Final filling and priming and this will soon be ready for painting.

Oh, not too fast......this has been assembled for eight weeks, but no time or energy to work on it. :-/ I finished work on the seams only yesterday because I was going to prime parts of the 262 also. It's been so long since I started this that I don't remember the markings I was planning for it! :-wall
