No, this was all planned on and many test-fittings have occurred. The interesting part of that is the nose gear bay is largely the cockpit tub. I had to build up the cockpit section, temporarily install this in the upper wing and then make the rest of the wheelwell walls fit into the cockpit and both wing halves. The Horten designers had very little room to work with and the top of the landing gear is right under the pilot's knees.
