Painting is done, now on to gloss and decals, then the final steps.

Here's the finished Hurricane and a bit of its history.

This was one of the Yugoslavian-built Hurricane I aircraft, constructed by the Zmag factory. The aircraft was captured by the Italians and flown for some time at a fighter school. In 1943 it was damaged and then faded away. There is a photo of this airplane with Il Duce examining it.

To be totally accurate, this would be an airplane with the fabric covered wings but my old kit represents the metal winged variety. This was built more to show off the Scale Aircraft Conversions landing gear kit and so I decided to practice my Italian camouflage techique on it, inaccurate or not. At least the old airplane is presentable again after many years in storage.

And the real reason for this rebuild, the SAC landing gear set. I've submitted a mini-review of this for the LLL 12 Magazine.

There are only a few models left in my unrestored inventory, Sall!  :-ok I"ve got a P-61, a couple of P-51s, a Me163, a TBD, and a Horten 229 plus some Century series jet fighters that may be beyond hope.

I still find it relaxing to strip and repaint these so I reckon I'll get to them all as time allows.

The Horten 229 is an old vacuform that I did a rough job of the first time. I think it could be an interesting rebuild one of these days. My next resto will probably be the Monogram TBD Devastator.
