Title: Hasegawa Bf 109G
Post by: Second Air Force on February 03, 2015, 07:30:42 PM
I've reached the point where rigging needs to be applied to the He-51, and I simply don't feel like doing it right now. So......I've decided to build a relaxing project again, this time the wonderful Hasegawa Gustav. There is a nice set of Hungarian decals in my collection that will be used, V8+31 being the codes applied. A little time spent to get the start, cockpit sprayed in 66:

If anyone has a photo of the real V8+31 I would appreciate seeing it--the tail markings are a question mark for me. :-think

Small progress on this relaxing kit:

So far the only addition to this excellent product is the drop-tank fuel line and a set of seatbelts. Other than that, it's right from the box and quite lovely to put together.

Since this goes together with almost no filler I've decided to paint it in segments and assemble it after painting. Hasegawa really engineered this series of kits beautifully, I must say!

Not much time for model projects right now, but some small time can be spent on painting this Gustav:

I am really enjoying this kit, the first Hasegawa Gustav I've completed from start-to-finish. It still lacks weathering but is essentially complete otherwise:

Sorry to say we have been very busy the last weeks--still this Gustav is actually finished. It has been for a week or so but no time until today to take pictures. Perhaps I'll apply some weathering at a later date, for now it's in a "factory fresh" look......

This was a wonderfully relaxing model and I thank Hasegawa for such great engineering. Also thanks to HAD for the decals on this one.

Thanks, y'all.

I still have one more decal group to use from the HAD sheet, a Ju-87. I've built the Fw-190 and now the Gustav so a Stuka will complete the set.
