Great Wall T-33 1/48
« on: March 02, 2018, 12:56:55 AM »
Here is the new T-33 project I'm building for my buddy. I'll talk about it more later, right now just a couple of pictures and I must cook supper!

Yes, it's really a nice kit, so far advanced from the very old T-33s that were produced before. Even the intake ducting is represented in the fuselage. The fit is quite fine so far as I've dry-fitted it and there are lots of details.

Here we go, cockpit assembly and painting is nearly done. Great Wall has built the instrument panels in three pieces, the front with dial faces pre-drilled, a decal with all instruments, and the rear to sandwich it all together. It works quite nicely even though my photos don't show it so well. Then I moved on to the wing and wheelwells, possibly tomorrow night I'll finish the two seats. A word of warning--I usually place the seats into the cockpit after everything is assembled, but these won't fit into the opening! So, seats will be finished and installed in the tub before assembling the two fuselage halves.

Thanks, mates, it's an easy build, I must say.

Just one cup of coffee and the cockpit was installed, fuselage glued together and wing added. The fit is extremely nice with only a little extra work required in a couple of small areas. It won't need much filler, either!

Primer evening finally arrived. This little airplane has been ignored all week but finally got a coat of primer on the seams. It's a good fit and just needs a little filler to finish off the seams.
