Arrival of new kits and material and overview of material previously obtained, demand some changes in work. So I start this Revell F4U-4 and my idea is not to focused on same kit but on products related to this kit. So I will use there Eduard upgrade sets, Eduard mask for canopy and mig paints and washes. Result will be even three review.
Basic kit is so basic, my first opinion is that without detail set, it would be empty. So first thing will be to prepare some set for interior and work on them.

Preparation for tomorrow work :))

Okay, looks like great upgrades!
-
promising !

Thanks and problem... kit I have is first released in 1963 and I need another one, new released... all right, will see how can I adopt parts for this kit :-wch
-
well, it may be a bit tricky
-
I know but I hope I will make it
-
:-ok

Hi mate,
A not easy kit to be improved... Airscrew is inaccurate, as is canopy, etc. I built both F4U-7 and F4U-N, that has been a nightmare...

I also think to drop build with upgrade, to simple complete it as is and forget it somewhere in showcase
-
It will be waste time and material to use etched set for kit, so I will complete it as it is. I will use it for test of some paints and washes.

Yes, nice progress. Not an easy kit; I was disappointed by their F4U1...
-
Me too, bitter fight to match wings with fuselage

And for me, disappointed by their F4U-5N and F7U-7...
The best kit of the F4U-7 that I got is HPM's kit :

For those who want to judge about the inaccuracies of Italeri's kits (Text is in French but the pictures show very well the meaning), see here :

Thanks ;)

After boig break, I decide to complete this build. Stored on side, just make mess, so lets start clean mess... kit is almost ready for painting.
-
:-ok
-
Details painting and decals ;)
-
Comes nicely !

Here it is, completed. I am not satisfied with my part of work, will credit it as crap. Wings do not fit good at all to fuselage and I should do more attention to carve shape into good fit, instead to use a lot of filler. Not easy to build from that point of view, many details are wrong but at least, in this dark scheme look somehow attractive and interesting.
-
more than excellent !
-
Thanks :))
-
Splendid my friend !

Thanks :))
