The "in-flight" Convair is now finished except for the appropriate base. I'll hand this over to the new owner in the next few days and he is planning the display fixture.

Looks great Scott! I have a set of those same markings, to keep with a local theme with some of my builds; also have atwo seat conversion that should be comming to do a Mass. ANG "B" model, they look cool too with a big harpoon painted on each drop tank.

Well, this project hasn't yet been finished until today. I ended up fabricating the display base, complete with a 49th FIS uniform patch. I will present the model this week to the new owner, the crew chief on 59-0083 in the 1980s. Incidentally, this particular F-106 served a long, eventful career with only two squadrons. It ended up being converted to the drone configuration and was shot down on 18 May, 1993 by an AIM-120 AMRAAM missile.
