Anyway, I finished wings and tail decaling and did one coat of flat cote (which is not flat at all, as I expected):

I said to myself "patience, patience, patience..." and counted a couple of hundreds, ignoring the urge to throw everything...
This is what it looks like after liberate use of setting solution... Now I have to wait for it to settle:

The disaster strucks, or how to ruin the plane...

I have coated wings in Humbrol sprey matt cote, which is really dead flat, which I love. Some strange things happened, though - those small specs underneath the roundels Thied to fix them with Q-tip, and the other picture shows the look - nothing too bad, but there are needed some corrections:

Then I went on and coated lower fuselage and wings. There was a reason to concern, it seems that this sprey cote lifts the paint:

Ah, nothing too bad, I thought, and continued stubbornly to mask and coat also upper fuselage. This is when the real disaster struck :

It even got under the mask and ruined the part around cockpit, which I planned to be semi-gloss. Now have to find the way to fix it...

But that spray... a struck from behind but it looks like it could be fixed. Don't give up, it is wonderfull
work , just take a small brake and you will find a way, surely, I have no doubt.

Well, after a short break, which lasted a liitle more over a year , it was time to move on...
Most of the ruined paint is restored, carefully painting over in almost drybrush technique, and struts were next...
In the box I received only 5 of original 8 outer interplane struts (4 for each plane), so I had to do a little scratchbuilding from sheet styrene:

Then came the wood paint, which is, like earlier, simulated by going with dark brown over linen colour. At the same time propellers received another layer.
Next was painting of reinforcing tapes on the struts – for this I used Vallejo acrylic dark flesh paint, and the process of painting took me a little more than 30 minutes – not counting in more than one hour of preparation – measuring and drawing the template seen on the paper:
