Yes, the instrument panel really does become hidden when assembled. These are really looking excellent!

One saving grace with the wing to fuselage fit is that the original had a rather rough surface in that area also. I spent a good amount of time examining one of the I-16s here in the States and it wasn't the most aerodynamic finish ever constructed.....

I've applied a mix of putty & aceton. To be noted that during the sanding phase, I've accidentally sanded the position light... There are back again, thanks to 3d paint for tissues...

That combo box is wonderful, but Eduard made a mistake: the first deco proposed cannot be built "as is" from the box: you have no telescopic visor, and the canopy must have a hole...

...Hard work, because any mistake should have been catastrophic - But I was successful! The visor will be made with Evergreen.
