This will be great pleasure to build, this plane is definitely impressive, slow but many of them took on daring missions. Kit is detailed but have many flush, not so big problem.
-
And slow work start, cockpit and interior first
-
This will be a pleasure to build (other than cleaning the flash...) my friend! There are still two original Accurate Miniatures boxings in storage here for later construction!
-
It is possible this is the kit. Last half of hour I take a look on high resolution scan of model 5 and there is great amount of interior details which can be upgraded but this is huge job, not possible to do now.
-
this will be nice, looking forward to it !
-
Yes, the plastic in your kit originated with Accurate Miniatures quite a long time ago. I've only built the early model (and converted it into an A-24) SBD-2.
-
Great!
-
Thanks :))
-
Many small cockpit parts assembled and painted in basic paint. Note that it should have also etched parts there but I avoid use them as well many of them are painted and they will be mounted lated. Work on cockpit demands a lot of time on this kit.

Nice kit...
-
nice !

Work on interior wash

Interresting product, looks nice!

Second Air Force- can you check out in original Accurate Miniatures assembly, where part J 11 is to be placed? Transparent part which need to be inside fuselage cockpit
-
the interior looks nice, well done mate !
-
Thanks and more will be work today ;)

Ooohh........I haven't looked at this thread in a few days, I'll check right now.

Thank you :))

Okay, I found my instruction sheet and am trying to remember exactly how that part fixes to the fuselage half. J111 has to be glued on to the thick vertical frame at the front of part E28. It is the instrument panel for the gunner/radioman and if you have a picture of the rear cockpit looking forward you can see it on the left side. Sorry I'm not more descriptive, here's a photo of my old build for reference:

J111 is the small white instrument under the decking on the left side. It's almost impossible to see when the gun ring is installed!
-
Yes, this position. Can you make some screen from instruction manual too? In Eduard instruction, it is very poor represent

Bear in mind that my kit is SBD-1 and there are a few little differences, but this should assist you.

This is of great help, thank you!!!

I'll keep the instruction sheet here for later use!

:-ok
-
Very nice, like it a lot !
-
Thanks :)) Now protection coat over it and to start final works
-
Very good, mate!
As to effectiveness of the "three-tone" camo, I used to visit with a Navy pilot who told me he thought the overall gloss blue probably did a better job than the multi-colored finish while airborne, at least in his opinion.
-
He is right, they flew later over deep Ocean and dark color was far enough
-
