Title: Dewoitine 510
Post by: draken35 on July 12, 2014, 11:44:07 AM
A new build in progress: the very tiny Dewoitine 510 from Retrowings. 1/144th scale is a nice scale and kits are more and more fabulous at that scale...

Anyway, this one is well done and assembly was relatively easy; only the undercarriage asking for some concentration...

Hello,

Nice project. D. 510 was the first monoplane of the Armée de l'air. What markings will be applied ?

Well, not really funny but to be said:

Yesterday I put in the trash what I was thinking it was the bipale propeller...

...In fact that was the guns to be placed under the wing!

One was found; for the other I had to scratchbuild...  :))

Bad day today...

After the alu, I have airbrushed Pébéo gloss varnish. Then I have masked the undersurfaces and I have airbrushed Tamiya XF-58.

When removing the masks...

The varnish did not stay in place in some locations. So I have a really bad painting result.
I think it's not the varnish that is guilty but better Tamiya alu...

Anyway, only one solution: to remove all the paint and redo the job, but this time green paint will be applied first!

I've been searching for some time for the old Hi-Tech 1/48 D.501 and your build gives me extra excitement to find one!

I have one at home but the wheel legs are lacking...
