Title: Da Nang
Post by: No.1 on May 01, 2014, 12:55:56 PM
I finally get this kit and this morning have observed parts. They are so many and they are good molds with nice details. This is review of Eduard re box of the original Academy kit so I will not take much attention on the quality of original parts. First to show is Eduard add to the product.

What is complicated is the rear port cockpit console. It is show vertical but I could not find good images, I see just some parts and they show this in flat down position, this is switches panel. Any idea?

I'll see if I have anything--my Phantom references are buried in storage.......

I found my Phantom book, but nothing of the cockpits at all. It is a very old Squadron "In Action". However, check this website: http://aviation.watergeek.eu/f4b-panel.html And this: http://www.ejectionsite.com/f4seat.htm

This one is of an RAF FGR2 but at least shows the sidewall..... http://cyberplasticmodeler.blogspot.com/2013/09/cockpit-walkaround-vol2-mcdonnell.html

Hopefully this helps with the panel and I'll keep looking for other rear seat items.

More work today and kit finally stand on its leg. There is remained some of details to be add and this will be few hours job and then will focus on the ejection seats and equipment under the wings. In order to complete kit as on archive image I need to dig out my spare box and see if I have two Mk. 83 retarded bombs.

Beautiful seats, No.1!

The fabric belts are definitely harder to construct but I sort of like building them after doing a couple of sets. However, the etched ones are simple and the result is also great. It's good to have such products to choose from nowadays.

I agree and I like idea of fabric so I keep sheet where it was printed to cut stripes for any other seat belts.
