Title: Chance Vought F7U-3 Cutlass in 1/48 scale
Post by: Jicehem on November 18, 2012, 12:35:01 AM
Hello everybody,  :-salut :-salut :-salut

Hobbycraft issued many years ago a 1/48 scale kit of the F7U-3. This kit has many inaccuracies and has consumed many time to correct it... The worst model I ever built !

Look how high the cockpit stands above the ground...

Three : one F7U-1 (Lindberg) and one F7U-3 (Hobbycraft) in 1/48 scale and one F7U-3 (Fujimi) in 1/72 scale. In my stock is one F7U-3P (Fujimi) in 1/72 scale.

Excellent results Jicehem!!!!!

One of the Lindberk kits was in my built collection years ago but it ended up being given to a friend in the early 1990s. As I remember it was a very basic model.

Yes, it was very basic but accurately shaped and really in 1/48 scale in both length and span. A very surprising fact at the time (1949-1950). Have you seen it on the forum ?

No, I hadn't thought of the old Lindberg kit for years until your threads. I do remember I painted mine in Blue Angels paint scheme, though...
