Progress on cockpit and fuselage assembly :)) And what is most interesting- quick analyze of archive images show that type have splinted scheme, not single top coat. So we have here reference build!!!

Join line canopy/fuselage must be sealed and flatten and behind need to be engraved line, where the cockpit is opened.

Thank you :)) It progress up to painting stage ;) First coat is RLM 02 over wings as well paint on top wings are much work out and this will be basic bottom color.

Very interesting and with its short wings a very basic glider. Don't know glide ratio of this plane. Modern gliders have a glide ratio of some 1:35 or more (for every 35 m of forward trajectory you'll lose 1 m of altitude). Think the best the BV 40 could do was some 1:10 to 1:12 and its landing speed must also have been quite high for a glider. Must have been well over 120 -130 km/h! With its not very streamlined nose section it definitely was not a high performer! With the pilot in prone position it must have been quite unconfortable.....

I think it could reach some 430 km/h in dive and each cannon have 35 rounds. So very limited combat capabilities, it could hit in one pass only.
