No problems with the join lines at all--the Fujimi engineers made a great kit! The only filler will be where the trailing edge of the center section meets the fuselage on the bottom. The lower fuselage will be painted after joining anyway so this will all work together.

Not much model-building at my house for the past couple of weeks due to the flu. The G-6AS slowly has seen some work done, though:

And this UM G-6 is slowly taking shape as well:

The UM G-6 is shaping up now, but it does require a bit more work than some of the other kits. The wing-to-fuselage joints are all in need of filing and trimming to get a better fit, and more filler is required on this one.

The "other" project, a G-6AS, is finally finished. It represents one of the many aircraft flown by night-fighter expert Friedrich-Karl Muller ("Nasenmuller"--a favorite nickname I've always enjoyed). This machine was used by Muller in the July-August 1944 timeframe when he was fighting in 1./NjGr 10. The rudder carries 23 victory markings. His 24th was the only Mosquito that he claimed during the War but it isn't known if he achieved that feat in this 109 or another machine.

This Fujimi kit went together beautifully with no problems at all! The decals are mostly from the spares box and the numerals were cut from decal material to get the correct colors.

Thanks friend!

For twenty years I've been thinking about building one of Muller's airplanes, after I first read a book about the night war between the RAF and Luftwaffe. These free-lance Wilde Sau pilots get a lot of respect in my opinion--night and instrument flying in a 109 or 190 would be demanding enough without chasing enemy bombers all over the sky!

The UM G-6 was moving along well enough that I decided to build the Hasegawa F-4 also. This kit goes together wonderfully with no fit problems whatsoever. I spent only a couple of hours and it was ready for paint!

So......this morning I woke up, drank some coffee, and then started a little painting on the G and F. Well, the airbrush was acting odd and I decided to stop and fully clean it internally. After the cleaning was done, I started to spray and, guess what? I put my thumb (with lacquer thinner on it) on the fuselage and this was the result: :-wall :-dal :-red :-roll :-wch
http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w117/2AF/IMG_1366_zps065729fc.jpg

Testors enamel doesn't care for lacquer thinner!

After mumbling to myself and more coffee I fixed the damage and continued painting. Eventually this was the result:
