Here is S-199 D-108 of 101 Squadron. This was another fun, relaxing build, basically from the box with the exception of some Otaki main gear tires and resin tailwheel. The kit decals went on quite nicely, also!

Yes, while doing research for this it was mentioned that the airplanes were in a semi-gloss finish when delivered to Israel. I modeled this, one of the early ones, in the fresh finish just after having the squadron emblem applied to the cowlings. Later they had the red spinner and striped rudder added, but I wanted to do a "new" machine for this first one.

Small progress on the G-10. The left and right fuselage fairings on the Revell kit both have the curved shape that you see on the first photo. This particular model will be depicting an Erla-built machine with the rectangular fairing on the left side. This was built up from tapered styrene sheet and filler, the rough beginnings shown in the second photo:

Hi everyone,

Here you are my last build : a Bf 109 K-4 from Erla-Leipzig. The original kit is the 1/48 Revell's issued in... 1978 !
The upper surface are entirely in RLM 81 and the unsersurfaces of the wings are unpainted except the ailerons which were fabrix covered and then painted in RLM 65 (This color xas always used by sub-contractors and recommanded for fabrics). Regarding the kit itself, the engine cowlings must be improved and the diameter of the propeller must be lenthened to 62,5 mm (3 000 mm for the real thing).

Look at the asymetrical location of the extra fuel tank (and this fact from the Bf 109 E !)

On this view you can see that the rear frame of the canopy overlaps the fuselage :

Here you see the white navigation light on the lower part of the rudder :

The asymetrical shape of the engine cowlings :

Cheers,

Jicehem

Hi everybody,

A special version of the Bf 109 : the Bf 109 V31 involved in the Me 209/309 programm by testing the large track undercarriage of both and the nex belly oil cooler (retractable) of the Me 309. Both projects were abandonned because of the birth of a more promising project, the Me 262 jet fighter...
I used the Bf 109 F in 1/48 scale from Airfix.

Modifications :

Cheers,

Jicehem
