I've picked out a scheme for my first K and it also will be a "patchwork" something like yours!

Small progress here, both on the K and D.

I should finish some others (Tiger I, TBD, Horten etc.)  that I have started but the 109 lures me in! Sometimes I need to relax and the K is one of those "relaxation builds".

Incidentally, I have read many horror stories on the web about the Academy Bf-109K. Parts don't fit, inaccurate, etc. I have had no problem at all with the fit on this kit so far and only an average amount of filler is used. The details aren't perfect, but for a shelf model it's alright. It isn't a Hasegawa kit, but it is about 1/3 the cost. I actually bought this for the separate wing bulges anyway......and I've got resin copies on the wings of the kit now.

Under-surface paint applied to both the D and K. I decided to experiment with "countershading" on the K as a weathering method. I've usually applied washes after painting but this method does show promise.

Thanks, mate. This is a "practice" kit only and other experiments will follow. :-danger :-wch
